2/23 Tuesday - at Ashwabay (All: photos, frisbee, 5 pole relay; [Scott J: 6-8x1kintervals at 10K pace, mixed classic and skate]) choice of technique

Thu - at Ashland (pair with a different middle schooler than last week, ski 20 minutes and 6-8 accels + games) TEAM DINNER and WAX at the Kozak's 5:30pm [Hwy 13N - left onto Ondossagon right past the old school (north) then left onto Cozy Corner (west).  Out 3 or so miles to Buvala (left only) and take Buvala to the end of the road #71490.  Questions, call Ann Kozak at 682-0317. Bring a beverage or dessert. 

 

Fri - Jr. Birkie (mass start 3.5K freestyle) and HS sprint relays (3x 1.5K).  Register on site (more info atwww.birkie.com) between 7:30 and 8:30. Races between 9am and 10:40am.  Relays to follow.  Relay teams as I currently understand them - Jon, James, and Scott; Cory, Chad, and Colin Larson; Nick and Alex Oppedal and Zach Fischer; Claire, Kayla, and Anna.  We'll leave AHS at 6:50am to head down. Have a parent excuse you from school.  We'll probably head back at 1 or 2pm after checking out the Birkie Expo and doing ski demos.  Bring snacks and a packed lunch or $$$.  Down load an entry from the Birkie website and have  parent sign it.  Races are $5 each. Rick Geisen or Scotty J. can help get Washburn kids to AHS - call them if you need at ride.  This should be a great day!

 

3/1 Mon - Full Moon Ski at Coach Liphart's trails 7:30pm, hot cider and cookies afterward. choice of technique - classic would leave more options. Bring cookies.


Tues - Ski on the Lake from the Washburn Coal Dock to Houghton Point (BART bus as usual - it will just stop at the coal dock instead of Ashwabay) choice of technique


Thu - at Ashland, Frisbee or Soccer on skis for 40 minutes

 

Friday - End of year shindig and potluck at Mt. Ashwabay.  Goofy relays, snow cross, slides, awards and door prizes.  Club gear can be turned in as well.  

 

Sat - River View Loppet for those interested (Brule trails, 5K, 12K, or 24K skate or classic. Comes with really good wild rice soup lunch and a hat) - see coach if you are interested (let them know well ahead of time).

All skiers should stretch and do sit ups at least twice this week and do strength at least once.
