Biathlon Project

 

The 4H-CANSKI Biathlon Project met on Sundays over the summer to hone shooting skills.  The summer program culminated in a mountain bike biathlon meet with the Duluth biathlon team at Snowflake. 

Winter biathlon will meet on Sunday afternoons at the range at Doug Liphart's house on Fire Road 245.  Practices will include instruction, shooting practice, a quick race, and some good food.  Practices run 90 minutes.  All shooting equipment is provided.  Participants will have the opportunity to participate in several ski biathlon meets, either as novice racers or in other categories.  Participants must have completed hunter safety.  

 

Our priorities for the 4H-CANSKI Biathlon Project are (in order of importance) 1) providing a fun, safe experience, 2) healthy socialization, 3) learning skills, self-efficacy, and leadership, and, 4) stoking interest in biathlon. 

 

CANSKI Biathlon 2012 Winter Calendar

Biathlon Race:  Sun, Feb 19, Duluth Biathlon race at Snowflake, Zero at 10 am.  We will carpool.

 

Biathlon Practices:

Jan 29 (Sun): Practice at Doug’s Range 3 pm

Feb 12 (Sun): This practice is canceled! 

Feb 19 (Sun): Practice at Doug's Range 3 pm

March 3 (Sat): Practice at Doug’s Range 3 pm and year end potluck
