I'll try to keep Mt. Ashwabay conditions updated here.
3/16 Regroomed Anchor loop, it groomed up nice. The rest of the trails are pretty icy, so wait until it is around freezing. We'll keep doing what we can to keep the trails skiable.
3/14 Finally got cool enough to groom in the new 3-4 inches of snow. So today got all the Ashwabay and Jerry Jolly trails groomed for skating and classic.
3/10 Anchor loop was regroomed for classic and skating. Plenty of base, should be good spring skiing.
3/4 The skate trails at Ashwabay were groomed, except Seagull not tracked. Jerry Jolly trails were groomed for skating and classic. Fair bit of old snow in tracks, otherwise looks pretty good. Plan on finishing the Ashwabay classic tracks tomorrow.
3/1 The skate trails at Ashwabay were regroomed and tracked last night, and the Jolly trails the skate lanes were groomed. Was good skiing this morning.
2/26 Groomed the skate lanes of Mt. Ashwabay and Jerry Jolly trails after a little drizzle and about an inch of new snow. We left the tracks as they looked solid with a little new snow skied in.
2/23 The AShwabay skate trails and most of the Jerry Jolly trails were regroomed. Should be nice conditions.
2/19 Regroomed the skate trails at Ashwabay and the Jolly Long trail.
2/18 John groomed the classic trails, and Jeff groomed the Ashwabay skate trails and the Jerry Jolly trails. There was about 6 inches of new snow.
2/15 We got around to grooming the Jerry Jolly trails today, and touching up the Ashwabay trails.
2/14 The Ashwabay trails were groomed today for skating and classic. Probably a liitle soft after 4-5 inches of fresh snow before grooming. Will try to get to Jerry Jolly tomorrow.
2/13 Finished up the Jerry Jolly trails tonight. Everything looked to be in good shape. Of course they are calling for substantial snow overnight.
2/11 Regroomed the skate and classic trails of Ashwabay, and got to the Long Jolly Trail and the South Bank Trail. Looks like all that was groomed is in good shape. There is a little debris on the trail in a few spots.
2/6 Sorry I've been slow on updating this page, was busy with the race and grooming. The skate trails were packed and tracked again today. Looked liked they groomed up nicely. Enjoy!
1/30 Regroomed the Valhalla Summit Ski Race course - ie. Ashwabay skate trails, plus the Long Jolly Trail. Looks to be firming up nicely, winds died just as I started setting track, so should be in good shape. Enjoy!
1/29 Groomed the skate trails and Jerry Jolly Long trail for skating and classic. Was enough new snow to keep it from being icy. Was snowing and blowing a lot as left, so drifting in pretty hard. Will try to regroom it tomorrow.
1/23 The skate trails were regroomed the night of 1/22, and the classic trails regroomed on 1/23 during the day. Looked to be in great shape, other than the wind blowing a little snow into the tracks in the open.
1/21 With a bit (1-2 inches) of lake affect snow from the cold temps over the weekend, the trails were regroomed for both skating and classic today. Should be great skiing, and I think it is even supposed to be above zero tomorrow!
1/16 Touched up the skate lanes this evening, regrooming Seagull completely to widen and reset track. Looks like excellent skiing.
1/15 Looked like all the trails got tracked. Things starting to firm up nicely. Great skiing.
1/14 Trails received 8-12 inches of lake affect snow. The guys were able to get out and pack, but didn't set track yet. They are hoping to get some tracks in tomorrow.
1/13 Received another couple of inches of snow since Friday. The trail system was regroomed for skating and classic today. Should be nice skiing.
1/11 Received about 4 inches of new wet snow. All of the trails were groomed today for skating and classic. They finished grooming about 3 pm. It was still snowing, but should be good for CANSKI practice.
