2nd Valhalla Summit Race 3.5k & 11k free – MS/HS & citizen (CANSKI fundraiser – we’ll need parent volunteers and youth volunteers as well as racers)
9-10 Wisconsin State High School Nordic League MS & HS State Championships at Minocqua Winter Park (Sat. FS & Sun. Cl)
15th, 1 pm: Short Story 2008 at Valhalla: This event is a chance for younger skiers to get a feel for the sport, to get outside, and to take part in fun activities. Skis will be provided if needed. Phone (715) 373-6172 for equipment reservations and information. There will also be free hot cocoa and cookies. Ski bibs and ribbons will be available for all participants.
15th, 2 pm: GPS Scavenger Hunt at Valhalla
16th Book Across The Bay event, CANSKI wax service and clinic. This is an event for EVERYONE in 4-H CANSKI to participate in! 500 luminaries, flat course, gotta be there. We’ll need youth and adult help with the waxing service fundraiser.
17th 4-H CANSKI will volunteer to help BATB by helping take the Washburn Tent down

HS Recreational skiers will ski Tuesdays in January and February and check skis out on January 8th after school. They will have some basic instruction, visit some different trails, and have some free skiing sessions.
HS competitive skiers will ski 3-4 days a week + clinics and races. Fridays will start by helping the elementary school program out for ½ hour, then practice 40 minutes (including sprints). Racers will be expected to complete 8 races before the State Meet.
MS racers will be expected to complete 3 races before state and practice 2-3 times each week (Tu, Fr, Sun).
Biathlon will meet in December @ AHS (organizational and informational meeting - TBA) and shooting @ Gilbertson’s trails: Jan. 6 & 20 (ski & shoot 2pm @ Gilbertson’s trails), Feb. 3 & 17 (ski & shoot 2pm @ Gilbertson’s trails). Novice races Mar.1&2 and one other (TBA).
